A Near Escape

Woke up this morning to the sound of a very disgruntled Missy Kitty.  I came downstairs to let the ferrets out, only to realize that one of the ferrets had figured out how to get out of the playpen, only to get herself stuck in the same thing she used to escape the pen, that being the “ball pit”, a popup type zippered crate that I put all their balls into and usually leave outside their playpen standing it up on its end (not like the photo linked below, which shows it on its side).  Apparently the ball pit was close enough to the playpen that allowed her to use it to escape! She was smart enough to figure out how to escape the playpen, I imagine by using the netting on the side and climbing it through the wires of the playpen, but when she fell or climbed down into the ball pit, she was not big enough to topple it over so she was stuck there when I woke up this morning.

Tonight the ball pit goes farther from the playpen so it won’t be an escape route again.
