Fell off the snow machine and got slightly run over, home after 4 am and slept until 1:00pm, but it was an amazing night chasing auroras last night. Not one, but two locations with dancing lights!
Taken in Fox, Alaska Jan 2-3, 2015. I had just got a Sony Alpha 3000 (no special lens, just the kit lens), went out for the first time with a new-to-me friend.

We drove on her machine to an amazing spot only to have barely any lights dance for us, on the way back I slipped off the snowmachine and got slightly run over by the snow machine (my own fault, really!), the skies exploded while driving back so we pulled into the pipeline viewing area and caught an amazing show but I didn’t get home until after 4am.

An amazing adventure and I think the best pics I’ve taken. I attribute it to beginners luck!
