Aurora hunting Jan 7-8: New camera & rented lens, but focus is still tricky!

Last night I went out to Chena Lakes at -20F and spent an hour shooting the aurora. Still learning to keep warm; especially keeping those feet warm is my biggest challenge right now. Also, I think I need to start carrying my gun with me since I scared myself with “noises from the woods” that I kept imagining was a bear (doubtful, yet plausible!), a moose or a mass murdered on the loose!

Also still learning to focus. I got to try out my new camera with a rented Rokinon lens last night. Even though I have no idea what I supposed to doing still with the lens, I’m already really glad I upgraded the camera body since it is so much easier to use. Focus is tricky!

Not sure I’ll have time to edit pics from last night until tonight and I might decide sleep is more important after I go to Cirque Du Soleil. In the meantime enjoy this silly selfie from last night!
