I went for a walk today instead of my initial plan of skiing because I was tired and thought I’d maybe only go to the dog park and back, but I went all the way to the Carlson Center. Also, my new boots are awesome. Lightweight, easy to walk in and my feet stayed warm.
This was right before I fell down the stairs and before I had my ass completely handed to me handed to me in today’s workout. I got the warm-up done and the cool down done. And that’s about it. Halloween nearly killed me.
No metcon today. 15 squats into the 40 squats and my abductors started screaming at me and I even screamed back they hurt so much so I had to stop and stretch for about 20 minutes.
I was able to finish the warm-up, but there was no way I was going to try to push that metcon today.
Warm Up
5o Mountain Climbers
40 Air Squats
40 second plank (and I did it!)
30 sec Wall Sit (no wall space so I sat and folded)
30 jumping jacks
Cooldown
400m walk
Stretching
Better than nothing I guess.
Day four of confirmed Covid.
I got to urgent care yesterday morning and was able to get a prescription for paxlovid as well as some other meds to help. I was also told I should be using my nebulizer daily. Yesterday was pretty rough and I was so congested and full of mucus that I couldn’t even lay down to nap without massive coughing fits which lead to episodes of dry heaving. It’s not pretty but that’s what happens.
It feels like the meds are finally taking effect though. Last night I finally got some sleep without any fever effects. I still had coughing fits, but the rx cough meds and mucinexDm really seems to finally be helping so that I can lay down and sleep.
Poor Michael just tested positive. I’ve sent him off to urgent care so that hopefully we can eliminate a couple of days of being very very uncomfortable by getting him on a prescription sooner than I got.
We have friends that will help us if we really need something but I think we just have to hunker down for the next few days and get better.
Well, shit. I have Covid and it’s kicking my butt.
I’m double vaxed and double boosted and I’m still in pretty rough shape. At least I didn’t get this before being vaccinated because I’m pretty sure it would have hospitalized and potentially killed me and my poor old lungs if I caught it pre-vax.
Last week going to Brooks Camp I was so damn careful and fully masked on the planes and on the bus tour and around everybody unless I was outside or eating at the lodge (3 meals over the five days).
I had suspicions when I woke up Monday morning at 5:30am and couldn’t breathe. But when the chills hit me after work I knew I was doomed.
Last night was a really rough night, like one of the worst I’ve ever had from a cold/flu ever. Feeling crappy now, but nothing like what I dealt with overnight.
Bug and Mew-mew slept with or near me all night.
First thing this morning I put in a call to my doctor and they’re not doing the infusion mononuclear treatment unless the INFECTED is very immune compromised, but they do have a prescription that is supposed to help me to help me feel better sooner.
Michael is also home for the next 2 weeks due to UAF requirements even though thus far he is testing negative. He is also staying downstairs unless he is helping me and when he does he is masked up. The idea of putting a mask on my very limited air intake mouth hole seems like utter hell right now so I really appreciate that he’s masking instead of me. He’s such a good guy.
Just woke up from a 4 hour nap. Tried to call the dr office to check on RX and they’re closed already. Called the pharmacy and I don’t have a prescription waiting.
I apparently am not getting my covid meds today because of the ineptitude of of my doctor’s office.
Screams, then coughs a lots.
This week we are “de-loading’ before the big Murphy Challenge (I won’t be participating) so my workout only took me 45 minutes, but that does not mean it was easy. I’ve been working at trying to get better form on my squats with actually breaking the parallel and with a total of 52 squats as part of the workout, I was working hard!
Next week I’m on PTO and plan to do some adventuring and really hope all these squats make hiking a bit easier. Fingers crossed!
Another three miles in roughly an hour. Consistency is a good thing!
I needed an extra day off this week so today was only my fourth workout. But that is better than no workouts and given how hard this one looks, I expected it to kick my butt.
I did Friday’s workout including 1 mile “running” (gasping), 30 pushup and a total of 90 squats. My form is getting closer to breaking the parallel too.
I also slept until 10am on Saturday.
Correlation?
